Terms of Use

The service

Court Documents Generator is a free tool for drafting court documents, including witness statements, skeleton arguments, position statements and draft orders. It is provided by Sarah Okafor, practising barrister in England and Wales, trading as Chambers of Sarah Okafor. It is free of charge for everyone, including litigants in person, law firms, local authorities and barristers, and document generation happens locally on your device.

Not legal advice

The tool formats the content you provide in the way you configure. Nothing in it, including the template phrases it offers, and nothing on this site, is legal advice, and using it does not create a barrister-client relationship. Court and tribunal requirements vary by jurisdiction, court, judge and case. You are responsible for checking the rules, practice directions and orders that apply to your proceedings.

Your responsibilities

Liability

The tool is provided as is, without warranties of any kind. To the fullest extent permitted by law, I accept no liability for drafting or formatting errors or omissions, for loss of data or confidentiality arising from your device or browser, or for any loss arising from reliance on the tool. Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded.

Accounts

You do not need an account to use the tool. If you choose to create a free account and sign in, you are responsible for keeping your login details secure. I may suspend accounts used unlawfully or in a way that harms the service. My Privacy Policy explains how account data is handled.

Intellectual property

The service, its design and its code belong to Sarah Okafor. Documents you create from your own content are yours.

Changes and governing law

I may update the service and these terms; the current version will always be at this address. These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have exclusive jurisdiction.
